I say morning oats, It’s more like lunchtime oats these days. I wake up craving a savoury breakfast but by lunchtime I am ready for a sweet fix and porridge hits the spot, especially whilst it is cold outside.

Despite the additional cooking pan, this breakfast is really quick to make. I find that measuring out the maple syrup really helps to control my sugar intake and the pears add a great little sweetness too.

  3. Cook for a couple of minutes (turning the pears occasionally) until the oats are done and then place them into your serving bowl, adding a splash of extra milk if needed.
  4. Top with the slightly softened pear and serve with a sprinkle of walnuts if desired.

I love porridge for breakfast and often I add nuts as well to it for a crunchy bite. I find it interesting the addition of pears.. it looks really inviting! A healthy and easy to prepare breakfast!
