Happy Birthday to The Kitchen Shed!
I am so happy and excited to be celebrating 1 whole year of blogging and what a year it has been. The Kitchen Shed has been viewed over 1 million times since it started last year and has gained thousands of lovely and loyal readers and followers. This is where it all started – The Kitchen Shed
My favourite highlights of the year have been:
- Guest posting for The Gracious Pantry
- Becoming a Cookbook Ambassador for Lisa Leake of 100 Days Of Real Food
- Becoming a Finalist of the Brit Mums Brilliance In Blogging Awards
- Being featured in Women’s Fitness magazine
- Having recipes featured in 101 Sugar Free Recipes magazine
- Creating recipes for Rachels Organic website
- Receiving countless samples and clean eating food products for review
- Entering and winning various blogging competitions
- Hosting giveways courtesy of various companies
- Running the Clean Eating 30 Day Challenge
But the biggest highlight for me has most definitely been the amazing and unique opportunity I have had to get to know so many of you.
I have absolutely loved being able to connect with you on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well as here on the blog. Hearing your stories and learning about your lives has been such a wonderful honour to me. You have made me laugh and cry (the happy kind of cry). I celebrate your successes and worry about you during your challenges. You give me strength and energy, cheer me up when I am down, inspire me, encourage me and keep me motivated so thank you all so much for your support, your comments, your emails, your likes, your pictures and your recipes.
I started this blog for one reason and that was to inspire other people to live healthier lives. I am not the worlds best cook, I am not the worlds best photographer and I am certainly not the worlds best blogger but none of these things really matter to me. What matters to me is being able to show others how simple and achievable a clean eating lifestyle really is. What I have gained in return is exactly what I hoped to be able to give. The Kitchen Shed ‘experience’ has helped me to live a healthier and happier life, it has motivated me to follow my dreams and to reach goals. It has taught me so much and made me so grateful for everything that I have.
The Kitchen Shed is so much more than just a food blog to me, The Kitchen Shed was my lifeline whilst living in the garage, it is my health, my happiness, my boys, my husband, my home, my future and it is all of you. The Kitchen Shed is where I strive to be a better person, where I look forward to the future, enjoy the present and learn from the past. It is all of me and I am so thankful for this opportunity that I have to share this blog with you.
Here’s to a beautiful year, I cant wait for the next one.
Charlie 🙂
P.S If you would like to share in the love, feel free to comment below and let me know ‘What The Kitchen Shed Means To You’. Selected comments will go on a testimonies page right here on the blog.

21st May 2015 at 12:54 amI’ve read about clean eating, lchf, real food etc etc. I now have information overload and am confused on what I should and shouldn’t eat. I’ve left all the groups and blogs on Facebook, except yours, and I’m looking forward to a fresh, healthy start…… where do I begin???????
