Picking fruit in abundance for free is just one of lifes greatest pleasures, especially when you are doing it with the people you love.
Blackberry picking is definitely something that makes letting go of summer a little easier. I do love the cosyness that autumn brings and I wanted to celebrate the start of the cooler months with this warm and delicious blackberry and apple baked porridge. It is delicious! My boys devourered it in seconds and have even asked for it for dinner since!

Clean Eating Apple & Blackberry Baked Oats

Depending on how hungry you are, this will feed 1 - 2 people. You could also double the recipe, you just need to find a dish that is big enough for the mixture to sit in a reasonably thin layer at the bottom, otherwise it takes a lot longer to cook through.
Ingredients
- 40 grams Jumbo Oats
- 1 Apple peeled and grated
- 60 grams Blackberries
- 100 ml Milk of choice I used oat milk
- 1 Egg
- 2 teaspoons Pure Maple Syrup Or Honey
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180C and lightly grease a baking dish with organic unsalted butter or coconut oil.
- Place the grated apple and most of the blackberries at the bottom of the dish.
- Whisk up the egg and add the milk, maple syrup and cinnamon to it. Whisk everything together.
- Add the oats to the egg and milk mixture and stir to combine.
- Pour the oat mixture over the the blackberries and apple and then scatter the top with any remaining blackberries.
- Give the mixture a light mix with a fork to make sure everything is evenly distributed.
- Place the oats into the oven and bake for 30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve and enjoy.
